Als je wachtwoord van je dreambox (door iemand) is veranderd, kan je het op deze manier misschien resetten. ‘k Vond dit op een forum… Niet getest!!

1) Installeer TuxBox Commander plugin (gele button in PLI)

2) Verander de directory naar Edit /var/etc/passwd (type 4: “Edit”)

3) Verwijder het gecodeerde paswoord.

3.1) In de file /etc/passwd is de lijn:
root:0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh of iets als
root:EIfidfjeSAEFKEOlasdf5ewr3rWEW:0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh

3.2) Het paswoord veld is de x of de gecodeerde lijn EIfidfjeSAEFKEOlasdf5ewr3rWEW

3.3) Verwijder de x of de gehele lijn. De lijn wordt nu:
root::0:0:root:/root:/bin/sh

4) Save en druk op exit

5) Telnet naar je DB met root user zonder paswoord.

6) Verander/maak meteen een nieuw root paswoord aan.

Dat is alles ..

Start de Commander .

Ga omlaag,( Knop onder Ok)

Var – ok -etc -ok-passwd-ok

I was having that annoying problem where services would suddenly be replaced by removed service in the settings list. As usual, the INTERNET wasn’t very helpful. There goes a saying: between all the proposed solutions, the simplest one is mostly the right one. And that’s the case here. You want to transform a avi-file (or any other format) to mpeg2 or mpg2 so you can watch it on your dreambox 7000s. You need Mencoder. (the encoder is part of the Mplayer download) Don’t let it scare you because it’s commandline. Just install it in a directory and read a little through the documentation. The basics are simple.
